We learned a lot from our first booth experience at the Farmington Festival Days. I think the biggest shock came as we experienced first hand, how tiny a 10x10 space really is. We were jam packed into our little tent. Thankfully, with some crafty wood making skills by Scott, and some design expertise by Lisa, we were able to fit all our product into our small space. The day started off really slow, but by noon, things had picked up considerably. We had a great turn out from the hours between 12 and 4. And while many just came to browse the sites, several people did buy our items, and even more took our business cards. We are hopeful that the exposure we had from the sheer volume of Farmington-ites will pay off and that word of mouth will spread, bringing in more business for us. We also learned how very long the day passes when sitting out in the 95+ degree heat. The upside of this was the water weight Brooke and I lost that day! Next time, we'll be sure to come equipped with fans and/or water misters. And finally, I think we learned that this 'business stuff' is NOT for the faint of heart. It's hard work, it's long hours, it's let downs and criticism. However, the enjoyment we get from crafting together and the giddy feeling that comes when someone buys and LOVES our product, FAR outweighs the negative. I think we'll stick around for awhile yet...

I was a browser because I left my purse at home. I came for the concert. My daughter and I both looked in your booth. Your items were really cute and were made really well. I'm still interested in some of your crafts, so, where will you be next?
ReplyDeleteHi LeeAnn,
ReplyDeleteOur next scheduled booth showing will be during the International Dance Festival Celebration located in the Boutiful park right by the Rec Center and Boutiful Jr High. This is set to take place the first weekend in August. We'll be there Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We'd love to have you stop by again! Thanks for your comments:)
